Dr. Putney has a prayer in his book,"Always Faithful" dedicated to those wonderful dogs , "Rest in peace, dear ones." Thanks to his efforts, they will.I remember seeing photos of those Doberman Soldiers during the war, marching so proud with their Marine handlers. I saw my first "live" Doberman in 1954 in San Antonio Texas, and fell in love with the breed then. Ralph and I wanted to do something special for those who will always be, very special. It's the only really nice picture I have of him, most were destroyed in a flood. A veteran of WW1, he enlisted to serve as one of the Electrical Engineers who rebuilt the Power Grid of Italy.
